Smt. Radhadevi Goenka College for Women has been nurtured by the Founder President, Late Smt. Radhadeviji Goenka’s vision. She was Freedom Fighter and great Social Worker and was obsessed by the idea of women’s empowerment. She realized that women empowerment was impossible without education. She herself showed indomitable courage by swimming against the currents by fighting against the orthodox traditions and beliefs. She remains our source of inspiration and strength.
Apart from providing education through various courses, we also aim to empower our students intellectually, spiritually, mentally and physically through various extra and co-curricular activities and schemes like ‘Joy of Giving’, ‘Earn While You Learn’, ‘Save the Girl-Child’, ‘Save Environment’, and ‘Save Water’ etc. Our college magazine ‘Surabhi’ and the Wall Magazine provide students a platform to hone their writing skills. Through N.S.S., students reach the rural areas and become acquainted with rural problems which they try to resolve thereby reducing the gap between the rural and the urban, the educated and the illiterate, as well as the rich and the poor. N.C.C. training makes our students confident, smart and upright. Every year, our students participate in the Republic Day Parade at Rajpath, New Delhi. Our girls win accolades in sports also. Our cultural performances, too, have achieved nationwide acclaim in the cultural events. Our artists are also highly appreciated in the Youth Festival organized by University
With the new vista of Education Policy we have developed modules for Certificate, Add-On and Pouch Courses for economic empowerment of women. Our institution has introduced Certificate Course in Self Learning to develop various learning skills and leadership qualities among students.
Our institution is approved as NPTEL local chapter to provide NPTEL and SWAYAM Courses. We have NSQF approved courses in Professional Communication Skills, Food Processing, Yoga Therapy, etc. We have MOU partners to do collaborative activities. RDG Institute of Films, Television and Dramatics is an innovative step to develop the acting skills of our students. This is a three level course in acting and theatre. We have established Institution’s Innovative Council to create a vibrant local innovation system.
An educated man can shape only his own future, but an educated woman can shape the future of a whole family and thus change the destiny of the nation.
