Motto of NSS

“NOT ME BUT YOU”

Though it appears to be very simple and short but has a very deep meaning hidden within. It suggests a spirit of service for others. It stands for two things:

  1. Forgetting and surrendering self.
  2. Rendering selfless service to others.

The word ‘NOT’ before “ME’ is to reduce the self to nothing and the word ‘BUT’ before ‘YOU’ can be expanded as follows:

“I DO NOT LIVE FOR ME BUT FOR YOU”
