About Department

The Department of Philosophy was started in the college in 1996 to provide quality education and enable the students to develop intellectual and spiritual skills that are useful in a wide variety of careers. The Department of Philosophy offered UG and PG degree courses. Dr. Santosh Thakare served as the first Head of the department. Currently Mr. Ajay Shingade works as Head and Associate Professor. Moto of the department is to learn not what to believe, but how to think multi dimensionally.

Miss. Pallavi Laddha, Miss. Esha Nilesh Pradhan and Miss. Anagha Tayade secured first position in Merit list of Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati at UG and PG level in 2010, 2020 and 2009 respectively. In 2018-2019 Indian Council for Philosophical Research, New Delhi sponsored Periodical Lecture was organized successfully. ICPR, New Delhi sponsored National Webinar on ‘Yoga for Health, Happiness and Harmony’ organized successfully in academic session 2020-21.

To inculcate and develop critical thinking, philosophical aptitude, analytical skills and moral values among the students

Objectives
  • 1. To learn not what to believe, but how to think multi dimensionally.
  • 2. To motivate students to participate in various extra- curricular activities for overall personality development.
